[Must Listen] The Weather Station – East

Though I recently featured the track in the Februweary mix and though the song’s been around since at least 2009 (if not earlier), I had to give this song it’s own feature. I know I overuse the words “beautiful” and “gorgeous,” but it’s hard not to use them to describe “East,” from the Toronto duo’s self-released 2009 debut, The Line.

The softly strummed guitar. The perfect touch of piano. A bango subtly plucked over it. And, of course, Tamara Lindeman’s croon. It is brimming with elegance.

“I’ll go west, ’cause my true love’s east…”
