REVOLVER – Parallel Lives

Revolver is made up of three classically trained Frenchmen who sing their songs in English. Their press release name drops Elliott Smith, Simon & Garfunkel and a few 16th and 17th songwriters forgotten to annals of time, except to musicians like Revolver. Their debut album Music for a While netted them a French Grammy and was produced by Phoenix’s producer, Juilen Defraud.

“Parallel Lines” comes off their upcoming Parallel Lives EP, out February 22nd on Astralwerks. The song features  gorgeous three-part harmonies and a subtle chamber pop sensibility. The Elliott Smith comparison seems most apt,  especially in the backing vocals, although Revolver aren’t quite there yet lyrically. Musically, they stand well alongside artists like the Kings of Convenience.
