Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros – Up From Below

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros is an indie rock band based out of Los Angeles, California. With 10 members and an additional 5 who occasionally play with the group, they have a Broken Social Scene super band feel to them. The group is led by singer and songwriter Alex Ebert, who also leads a band called Ima Robot.

Up From Below is the sophomore album for the group, the first is an EP called Here Comes, which I have not listened to. Honestly without a couple of songs Up From Below is a 6 out of 10 at best but the first two songs make the whole rest of the album bearable. 40 Day Dream and Janglin both hold top 5 spots on my most played in my itunes. These two songs take the album from a 6 to at least an 8. The album is definitely worth at least a listen in my mind.
