MUST LISTEN: Sage Francis – The Best of Times

By Samuel.

Hip-hop as a genre is extraordinarily underrated in terms of artistry and this is one of the best examples I’ve come across for its incredible value as a medium for self-expression and introspection.

I don’t know if there’s anything I could say about this song that would actually say anything about it. All I think I can do is post the first verse and hope you listen to the song, but even posting it doesn’t do it justice. Sage Francis’ voice just holds an incredible honesty.

“Its been a long and lonely trip but I’m glad I took it,

Cause it was well worth it,

got to read a couple of books and do some research

before I reached my verdict,

Never thought that I was perfect,

always thought that I had a purpose,

I used to wonder if I’d live to see my first kiss.”
